Things to Do This Summer in Texas
School’s out for summer and the weather is heating up. It’s that time of year to plan your summer fun! The great state of Texas has something for everyone from the mountain deserts to the big cities and with so many possibilities, it can be overwhelming to plan a trip. Here’s our list of Things to Do This Summer in Texas to soak up every second of the season and have some fun!
Float Down a River
Texas has some relaxing rivers to cool off in from the Frio River in Uvalde County to the Comal River outside of New Braunfels. All you need to do is grab a cooler, some refreshing beverages, and some friends.
Visit a Waterpark
If you haven’t been to the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine or the original Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, you are missing out on some real summertime fun. Texas has plenty of water theme parks to choose from all over the state and for all types of water-sport enthusiasts, including wakeboarding parks like BSR Cable Park in Waco.
Take a Dip in a Spring-Fed Swimming Pool
You haven’t experienced swimming until you’ve dipped yourself into a spring-fed swimming hole filled with water from natural springs. There’s the Blue Hole in Wimberley, Hancock Springs in Lampasas, and Barton Springs Pool in Austin, which stays on average 68 degrees year-round.
Vacation on the Gulf Coast
There’s more than 350 miles of sandy beaches along the gulf coast of Texas and plenty of sunshine and water to go along with it. From Galveston to Corpus Christi, planning a trip to the Coast is a must do for any Texan. But don’t forget to consider other places as well, including Surfside Beach, Rockport, and South Padre Island.
