Buda Homes for Sale
The city of Buda, Texas consists of a thriving small-town community about 15 miles south of the Austin metro area in Hays County. It’s located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country with numerous neighborhoods and homes spread out nicely in a countryside back drop along I-35 and SH-45. The city has been dubbed by The State of Texas Legislature as the “Outdoor Capital of Texas” with more parkland per capita than any other city in Texas, 29.6 miles. First established as a small railroad stop in 1881, the town has grown with a significant residential and business presence over the years. Main Street represents the town’s heart and soul, and it gets plenty of patronage from both tourists and locals. With ample shopping and other attractions, original buildings give it an ‘old time’ look. The city hosts events throughout the year to maintain its small-town feel. The Buda Lions Club Country Fair and Cookoff has been extremely popular and features the “Wiener Dog Races” where participants come from all over the country to participate in both the cookoff and races.
